Our Open House is THIS Saturday from 12-4pm at our facilities at 1351 Rollins Road, Burlingame. Learn more and sign up for updates on our Open House webpage. We hope to see you here!
Report Dead Birds
Would you like to help us protect against mosquito-borne illnesses? Residents who find a dead bird in good condition (head and eyes intact and not infested with flies or ants) should call 1-877-WNV-BIRD (1- 877-968-2473) or file a report online at westnile.ca.gov. If suitable for testing, a District staff member will bring the bird back to the lab and test the carcass for the presence of mosquito-borne disease.
Our White Jeeps
You may have seen one of our white Jeeps in your neighborhood during the drier months of the year. What are we doing, and why is it so important?
The short answer is that we are controlling mosquitoes breeding in storm drains, to keep our residents safe from West Nile virus. This is one of our most critical programs protecting San Mateo County residents from mosquito-borne disease and allowing us to enjoy comfortable evenings outdoors. For the longer answer, read more about our White Jeeps program.

National Mosquito Control Awareness Week, June 16-22
Our staff and board members are busy this month visiting city councils to help raise awareness of the important work our district does. All of us living, working, and visiting San Mateo County are able to worry a little less about mosquito-borne diseases because of the work our staff do every day. Please take the opportunity to tell a friend or neighbor about our work, and remind them there is no cost to request our services!
